The DGNM promotes neurogastroenterology and motility in science and practice through further education and conferences. It also represents it at health policy levels. In particular, it supports research projects and younger colleagues in international working groups. As a member of the European Society of Neurogastroenterology and Motility (ESNM), the DGNM participates in international research groups.

nEUROgastro TANDEM

For young scientists.

The project is aimed at young European scientists with a special interest in neurogastroenterology and motility. The guiding principle of TANDEM is transnational research: combining basic research with clinical expertise.

Projekt GENIEUR

International network.

The international network GENIEUR-reloaded has set itself the goal of identifying genetic factors that contribute to the development and occurrence of IBS and concomitant diseases. Within the network, more than 80 research groups and scientists from 29 countries are participating in the research of the human genome, epigenetics and metagenomics.

European Society of Neurogastroenterology and Motility (ESNM)

International umbrella organisation.

The European Society of Neurogastroenterology and Motility (ESNM) unites 17 European specialist societies in neurogastroenterology and motility under its umbrella. As a subsidiary of the European organisation UEG (United European Gastroenterology), which brings together all leading gastroenterological experts and societies focusing on the digestive tract, the ESNM headquarters are in Vienna.

NeuroGut

International training network, finished.

The European Union funded the large international training network in gastroenterology on the topic of „Nervous Regulation of Intestinal Functions“ for the first time with 3.7 million Euros.
