The Annual Meeting of the German Society for Neurogastroenterology and Motility starts in Berlin in 30 days. After a joint dinner on February 28, a packed program of lectures awaits you on March 1 and 2. Take the opportunity to hear the latest findings from research and clinical practice, exchange ideas with colleagues and gain new impetus for your own work.
Here is a summary:
Session I will focus on basic research and new findings in the field of neurogastroenterology, including IGF1 in the enteric nervous system, pancreatic nerve structures and inflammatory processes in the gut.
Session II presentation topics include research on motility in Hirschsprung's disease, optogenetic approaches to gastric motility and the role of fecal supernatants in the activation of the submucosal plexus in IBS-D.
Session III will focus on the role of SOX10 in neuroinflammatory diseases, the development of ex vivo models of inflammatory bowel disease and the study of innervation in pancreatic cancer.
In Session IV, clinical topics range from microbiome-based approaches to the treatment of IBS to the importance of high-resolution esophageal manometry and questions on carbohydrate intolerance and functional gastrointestinal disorders.
Finally, in Session V, experts will present clinical updates on topics such as constipation, functional dyspepsia and functional diagnostics, with practice-relevant results and the latest research findings.
As part of the Lüderitz Lecture, Chloé Melchior, Professor of Gastroenterology in Rouen (F), will address “The need to generate interest in neurogastroenterology for a better management of our patients”. In addition, Prof. Kai Markus Schneider, winner of the 2024 Neurogastroenterology Foundation Prize, will speak on the topic of “Stressing the Gut-Brain Axis”.
